CQ Health is welcoming 79 new nursing and midwifery graduates to the workforce in 2023.

Graduates are employed at different hospitals and units across the health service where they are supported in their first year of practice.

Education and Research Nursing Director Julie Kahl said the Registered Nurses’ and Midwives’ graduate year focused on support and mentorship of senior nurses, clinical facilitators and educators.

“We aim to provide a good transition from the classroom into life as a healthcare professional and part of our clinical team,” she said.

“This includes both practical tutorials and assessments that are done throughout the year.

“This is one of the most rewarding careers, but there are challenges; and we aim to support these new nurses and midwives as they embark on their careers.”
