Works will start soon for the new $28.5 million Cardiac Hybrid Theatre at Rockhampton Hospital.
The new Cardiac Hybrid Theatre will go on Level 3, Rockhampton Hospital. To make room for the new service. Several services will move during the construction period.
Once complete, updated and relocated services will be at:
- Level 1: Eye Clinic (Ophthalmology)
- Level 2: Gynaecology and Antenatal Outpatient Clinics
- Level 2: Paediatric Outpatient Clinics
- Level 3: Cardiac Hybrid Theatre
- Level 3: Cardiac Investigations Unit
- Level 5: Cardiac Inpatient Unit
The latest artist impressions and draft interior design concepts give a glimpse into what the hospital upgrades and new Cardiac Hybrid Theatre may look like.
The draft designs draw from inspiration from the surrounding natural environment to provide a welcoming atmosphere for patients, their families and carers and staff.
Each level takes on a theme representing our region, with care taken to complement the existing colours on each level.

Initial works are anticipated to start late October on Level 2 Rockhampton Hospital, with some changes to clinic locations, way finding and access, as well as some construction noise.
