Summary
A contractor has been selected to deliver the Moura Multipurpose Health Service aged-care expansion.
Bridgeman is a proud Supply Nation certified Indigenous company specialising in regional project delivery across Queensland.
The $17.2 million expansion will add eight residential aged-care beds to the existing Moura MPHS and include other upgrades including a new kitchen and laundry and converting the current kitchen into a storeroom.
The extension will be connected to the existing facility, and will also include a reception, lounge area, car parks with a drop-off zone, and outdoor areas for the use of residents, families, and visitors.
Central Queensland Health Chief Executive Lisa Blackler said this important project meant residents of the Moura area would have access to better aged-care options, allowing them to remain close to support networks and families.
“We are excited to expand the options available to the people of Moura, adding to the great care provided closer to home,” she said.
The project is expected to start in mid-2025, and due for completion by mid-2026, weather and building conditions permitting.
It is part of Queensland Health’s Sustaining Capital Program.
