Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service’s new Chief Finance Officer, Assets and Commercial Services Srinath Kondapally is delighted to be working in Rockhampton.

When he saw the job advertised, he carefully considered the opportunity and found our values and strategic objectives aligned perfectly with his own.

As Chief Finance Officer, Assets and Commercial Services, Srinath’s responsibility is to provide strategic and operational leadership for the financial management of clinical services and oversight of the annual health budget for our region. Importantly, Srinath will also be accountable for ensuring that we maintain a strong focus on providing great care closer to home by improving our service delivery and maintaining financial stability.

He’s passionate about providing close-to-home patient-centred care using innovative technology and service redesign to improve services and maintain financial sustainability. He is keen to face the challenges of life in a regional centre.

Srinath has more than 25 years’ experience working across hospitals and healthcare networks and private corporations in Australia and India.

He started his health finance background in Melbourne where he worked for many years for major hospitals before moving to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. Most recently he has worked at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service based in Ipswich.

His first impressions of Central Queensland are good.

“Work is work, but it’s the people around you that make you want to come back, and the people here are wonderful,” Srinath said.

“There’s a good vibe here. The attitude is ‘Let’s do something for the community’.” Srinath would like to work with executives and staff to create a workplace where all of us feel valued and engaged.

He’s also keen as an executive team member to think outside the box about the big picture on what can improve in the region to become attractive for recruiting and retaining good staff – possibly the biggest challenge in the regions.

Outside of work Srinath has recently introduced a 10- to 15-year commitment to his family, a 6-month-old golden retriever named Eddie.

“He’s a bundle of energy and I’ve never had a dog before so I’m learning.”

A warm welcome to the CQHHS family Srinath, it’s wonderful to have you here. Find out how you can join Srinath and the team at Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service on our careers page.
