We’re building a new Cardiac Hybrid Theatre at Rockhampton Hospital. This will give Central Queenslanders access to enhanced cardiac services closer to home.
This will enhance the range of cardiovascular procedures to include:
- coronary angiograms
- coronary stents
- pacemaker implantation.
This project will support attraction, retention, and growth of a sustainable cardiology workforce.
The $28.5 million project includes:
- a Cardiac Hybrid Theatre
- a procedure room
- 6 recovery bays
- 6 new inpatient beds, making a total of 12 cardiac inpatient unit beds.
The project also includes expanded:
- Cardiac Investigations Unit with 8 assessment and diagnostic spaces
- office space.
The project is part of the Queensland Health Big Build. Queensland Health will deliver the Queensland Health and Hospitals Plan. The department leads the tendering and contracting of building contractors and consultants of all major health projects.
